We have space for 18 youth and 6 adults. Philmont guidelines: - 2011 Philmont participants must be 14 years of age OR completed 8th Grade and be at least 13 years of age prior to participation; - Tentative arrival date(s) at Philmont Scout Ranch are July 20 or July 22, 2011. Our planning will begin in January! |
West Point Camporee |
April 30 - May 2, 2010. Held in Central Valley, NY, just north of the U.S. Military Academy. This event is run by the Cadet Scoutmasters Corps and is a great event. Sign up sheet will be posted at Sunday's meeting. Cost is $20 per person. We can take up to 35 scouts + parents. Drivers will be needed. Please note that we will have to leave from the Wellesley area by 1 PM in order to secure our campsite before dark. |
Catholic Mass Celebrating 100 Years of Scouting |
We are very pleased to announce that Cardinal Seán O’Malley has cordially invited all current and former scouts, scout leaders and their families for a special Mass celebrating this anniversary on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross (1400 Washington St., Boston, MA). Tours of the Cathedral will be available before the Mass, starting at 12:15 p.m. To mark this day, a commemorative patch will be available for the first 1,000 registered participants. Also, light refreshments will be served afterwards at Cathedral High School. To assist us in this special event, advanced registration and donations are welcome and helpful, but they are not required. Toby de Peyster's cousin is currently serving as a journalist and humanitarian in Port Au Prince where he has lived for the past 5 years. A recent email from him mentioned the need for tents and other outdoor equipment prior to the rainy season's onset. You can help with relief efforts. Click here for more information. |
In cooperation with Troop 185, Troop 182 Scouts will have the opportunity to work on the 2nd and 1st class swimming requirements and earn the Swimming Merit Badge, the Lifesaving Merit Badge, and the Mile Swim. Sessions will begin February 25th -- pre-registration is required. For more information click here. |
