Boy Scouts of America, in conjunction with the Knox Trail Council, have recently implemented new standardized requirements for all Merit Badge Counselors.  As a result, a listing of official Council-wide Merit Badge Counselors is now being maintained by Knox Trail.  The  Knox Trail Council  list is not publicly available, but Scouts can request Merit Badge Counselor contact information from either their Scoutmaster (Paul Hurney) or their Troop Advancement Records chairperson.
Scouts:
Remember to obtain a signed blue card from the Scoutmaster before beginning work on a merit badge.
Any Merit Badge you start working on must be counseled by an approved Counselor from the offical Knox Trail Council list or through Yawgoog / Resolute / Cachalot / Merit Badge College.
Once you have completed all of the requirements for a Merit Badge and have every requirement signed off by your Counselor, be sure to hand in the completed blue card to Troop 182's Advancement Records chairperson.
There are a lot of merit badge resources available on the web including requirements, worksheets, reference material and helpful links:

Merit badge books can be borrowed from the Troop 182 library or purchased at the Scout Store
In addition, to help Scouts plan their work for earning various Merit Badges, the lists below summarize merit badges that can be earned at Yawgoog, Camp Resolute, and the Fall & Spring Knox Trail Merit Badge Colleges (subject to change on short notice):
The following table provides a list of Troop 182 Merit Badge Counselors approved by the Council or in the process of being approved (periodically updated):
